lyrics

Peter.
Peter Pan, that's what you called me.
You never seem to get I'm childlike -
that doesn't mean I'm childish.
There is no contradiction.
Though you'll deny . . .

Think happy thoughts and you can fly.
Think happy thoughts and you can fly like . . .

Peter.
The one that you cast as the bad guy.
The one you said could never handle
adult situations
like the baby in your belly
that isn't mine.

Think happy thoughts and you can fly.
Think happy thoughts and you can fly so high.

(Hi).
How ya doin'?
How's yer life been?
Pity 'bout your present situation
but don't you cry.
Think happy thoughts and you can fly.

No more.
I can't take the aggravation.
If you need to reach me I will be flying.
Flying to my island
where they taught me something
that you should try:

Think happy thoughts and you can fly.
Think happy thoughts and you can fly like . . .

Peter.

I'm flying.

credits

from Fidelity is the Enemy, track released July 17, 2001
Here's how I remember it:

Recorded by Steve Wellner at The Longview Studio and John Anthony and Pete Rydberg at MAJA Audio Group. Mixed by John Anthony at MAJA Audio Group.

Michael Aharon played one cello several times. Steve Beskrone played like Paul including going to the B flat when I asked him to. Emily Chatton did not want to wear a serious expression in the middle of July. Mike Frank played wurlitzer electric piano and authorized the use of the B flat. Erik Johnson played drums and then played drums. Shane Smith played with the record. I sang, bounced a basketball, rang a bicycle bell, hit an indian drum, slunk a slinky, shook shakeys, played electric guitars, toy piano, toy flutes and magnus air organ.
