I wrote this one morning as I was waking - writing a few lines, then going back to bed. In a large sense, writing to myself to coax myself into my day. I was also remembering what it was like when I worked a straight job and didn't have the option of lingering around in the morning listening to sounds in my head.

I think this song may set the attitude for the album, that life can throw a lot of things at you but there’s ultimately some lightness in there too if you keep moving towards it. Aimee Mann wrote the new first verse, which hit the mark a lot better than mine did (she knows at least 26 things about songwriting).
