A shower song. For some reason, I hear a lot of my best songs when I’m in the shower, which seems to indicate that I should bathe more.
The guitar and vocal are a live take. Julian and I took 20 minutes and sketched out the French Horn parts, which allowed another of my favorite instruments to make the album.
Michael Penn changed one word and I’m not going to tell you which one but, take my word for it, that guy knows a least 26 things about songwriting.
lyrics
Wait - I’ve got some more to say.
As you’re going on your way.
Take this along.
You - gave me more than just desire.
You lifted me and inspired.
So, take this along.
As you go
off in your role as Supergirl.
As you go off to save the world
always remember there’s someone you saved
at home.
I - can never repay this debt.
But I’m not done trying yet.
So, take this along.
As you go
off in your role as Supergirl.
As you go off to save the world
always remember there’s someone to save
at home.
Now - it’s much later than before.
I know you can’t wait no more.
So, take this along.
