lyrics

Say "Toy Boat"
fast three times
in a row.
I'm tongue-tied.

You twist my tongue.
You break my heart.
You set my mind off racing.
You twist my tongue.
You break my heart.
You ask a leading question.

Say "Toy Boat"
fast three times
in a row.
I'm tongue-tied.

I say my mantra
and I imagine
that with each recitation.
I say my mantra
and I imagine
each time our lips are meeting.

She sells seashells by the seashore.
Peter Piper picked a peck of pickled peppers.
Rubber baby buggy bumpers.

You twist my tongue.
I say my mantra.

Say "Toy Boat"
fast three times
in a row.
I'm tongue-tied.

Three free throws
in a line.
Say "Toy Boat"
I'm tongue-tied.

Again and again and again and again and again and again and again.

Again and again and again and again and again and again and again.

Again and again and again and again and again and again and again.

credits

from Fidelity is the Enemy, track released July 17, 2001
Here's how I remember it:

Recorded by John Anthony and Pete Rydberg at MAJA Audio Group. Mixed by John Anthony at MAJA Audio Group.

John Anthony shook the shaker and he ran it through a filter (and it comes out of a faucet and is poured into a teacup - Harry N.). Scott Bricklin played bass. Mike Frank believes that any song could use one less keyboard and one more guitar, so Kevin Hanson played slide, e-bow, and dreamy bridge guitars and took the ferocious solo. Erik Johnson played the drums. I sang, played electric guitars, impersonated Mal Evans, and played the mellotron sounds.
